Stock Call Option question: What determines how many avg daily trades a Call option has?1ericka2012-09-29 04:32:02
I thought it would be based on the average daily volume of the population - The higher the level of stocks , the greater the volume of options. But I compared the volume of option trades some populations with different APP 4000000 avg daily trades and it seems that the activity of choice for one may be very low and the other high.

In order for a stock option to be executed does it have to be above/below the price for a call/put?0Anika Bennett2012-08-02 20:32:02
I've been reading a lot about stock options , but I can not seem to find the answer, I see the stock options that have the calls ( to buy at a given price ) and put (to sell at a specified price ) . I wonder does the stock price has to be at a point determined by the options to be exercised? For example , a stock is trading at $ 1 - If you buy a put option for $ 7.00, but the action never rises above $ 2 , you can use its option to sell shares at $ 7.00 despite the population is far from it ? Conversely , if a stock is $ 5 and you buy a call to buy shares at $ 1, but the stock goes up or never comes close to $ 1, you can still buy shares at $ 1? How would that effect if you could not because I could buy a lot at $ 1 and make a profit if the stock is trading at $ 5?
Do I need to own a stock in order to purchase a call or put option? What are the consequences if I don't?0Devaughn2012-10-20 07:16:22
I want to buy an option to help you save money while still being able to make big profits . If I buy a call option on a stock that is selling for $ 300 + and only have enough to buy a $ 1000 ( ie , the price of the option is $ 10 per option ) , what should I do if I want to run this option at $ 300 when the stock is trading at around $ 320 expiration ? I have to get to $ 30,000 ? !
I am considering an Option strategy similar to a covered call except I would buy a LEAP instead of the stock?1Curcuma空间QQ网名. aggressive Mei -2015-07-29 22:29:29
i.e. Yahoo is trading at about $27 i would buy a LEAP JAN09 17.5 strike at $11.15 and sell/write a JAN08 30 strike for $1.15 total cost is $10 ($1000 for the contract), and as the calls I write expire I would write new ones for the next month until I get exercized (in the first trade that would be at $30 for a $250 profit on a $1000 investment) or offset the LEAP close to expiration, always making sure the strike price was high enough so that if excersized I would make money counting in the premiums I collected. Basically this is similar to standard covered calls but more leverage (I belive the proper term for this strategy would be a "Diagonal Spread"). Is there any downside of using LEAPS instead of Stock that I am missing besides the obvious time constraint where I have a little over a year to pull a profit as opposed to buying the stock where I have as long as it takes? Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

If option premium is above current stock price can you sell call, use premium to buy more, and repeat endless?0 색깔을 나타내는 단어 2012-10-08 01:18:52
Scenario - you own 100 shares of XYZ to trade 1.00. You can write a call for a premium of 2.10 with an exercise price of 2.50 . Can you write the call , use the premium to buy more shares , write another call , and do this continuously until the interest is over? Why would anyone pay a large premium compared to the current exercise price and the value of the underlying stock ?
