I realized that after the markets closed there after market trading . Are these people in other time zones still have access to it until 4pm your time?

Long ago I made the mistake of placing a market order for action at 16:00, thinking of the action will open the next day at or near the same price. Despite the stock trades on the NYSE , the broker used an electronic exchange Nasdaq, and bought out for me at 3 am for about $ 2 on the closing and opening price. I'm sure he sold out of its own inventory at a time when no one else had an offer to buy so they could " stick it" to me and make a great profit for themselves.
So " after hours " may be the latest by 1/2 hour after closing .
There are small Internet-based exchanges (I know of one in Kansas City, Mo) that can operate 24/7 .

8:30 to 9:20 premarket

9:30 to 4:00
regular market
4:30 to 8 is after the hour. your broker will have a separate process to meet demand.
