I am graduating with a Finance major. I am planning on getting a double major in either Applied Economics or MIS. Either way i graduate in the same semester as planned. I really like Finance, and that is the industry I am gonna go into and hopefully become a financial analyst (Sell-side analyst to be more specific). The dilemma I have is whether to do my 2nd major in Econ or MIS. I know Econ might be a little redundant with Finance, but its Applied Econ and gives an overall macro idea/theories of the economy and how to analyze trends. However, MIS will let me be the middle man between Finance professionals, and the techies who know IT etc. The tech industry is booming, and will continue to grow along with Finance. I was looking to focus my career at companies like Scottrade, Harris Corp., e-trade maybe even IBM etc. that use finance (traded publicly) and IT. The whole reason behind me getting a 2nd major is to have 1 up on the numerous (and rapidly) increasing finance majors (specially financial analysts). I don't mind either subject- MIS or Applied Econ, and I put my mind to whatever it is I study (theoretically and practically)
I would greatly appreciate your help.
