Is selling a stock then buying the same stock back at a lower price considered day trading?0Janeille2012-07-24 07:49:02
I understand that buying stock then selling it for a higher price in the same day is considered a day trade. What about selling a stock bought on a previous day for a profit, then buying the same stock back at a lower price. Would that be considered day trading or not?
Which Online Trading firm has the lowest start up minimum for buying stocks?1Ros2012-10-09 11:24:03
I'm looking for a way to buy some common stock. I was wondering which site out there has the lowest minimum investment for buying stock. I tried researching the sites and it is quite aggravating. I work at a company where you can start an IRA with a minimum of $25 but we don't do common stock. I probably won't find that out there, but I'm looking for something in hundreds, not thousands to invest. Any input would be great.

Selling and buying stocks?0Mina2012-11-06 06:42:46
This lady told me this about selling and buying stocks in the same day--she said: If you have less than $25,000 then you can only buy/sell (the same stock) 3 times in a 5 day period. So during M-F let's say you buy/sell AAPL on Tuesday (day 1)....Buy/sell X on Thursday (day 1)....Buy sell CAT on the following Monday (day 1)....You have reached the 3 day trades in a 5 day period limit. can any one put that in better words or help me to understand what she is meaning?
Does buying and selling stocks every day really work?4ditch 2012-10-16 16:18:03
It seems that every day the stock market goes up or down almost 5 %. Although long-term trends that may be happening right now, if someone bought shares every day the market dropped significantly .. and sold whenever the market went up ( the next day) .. or cut your losses if you hold down ... this really works ? Bearing in mind that when it falls usually comes back up ? Is there a trick here ? Or is that some people make a fortune day trading these volatile markets right now?
Some tips about buying/selling stocks?2Gee2012-09-07 11:08:03
I've never changed before. I'm thinking of opening an account with Charles Schwab and do some stock trading . This is what I am confused about . That's how I thought it worked. A hypothetical situation. You buy 20 shares of a company for $ 10/share of example.10 * 20 = 200 . The next day , the price rises by 20%. 200 * 1.2 = 240 ? right. Now if we pay say $ 18 it cost to buy and sell. 40 to 18 , make $ 22 . Is there something I misunderstood about the actions due to the offices of my friend for a year, and when the stock price rose 25 % to a company , I told him to sell and buy back later. He says that does not work that way. Who is right ? If he or I?
