Why do blacks deny that they have african roots?4Chelcie2012-10-20 13:33:57
from what i was taught in world history was that everyone came from Africa and spread all around the world....also, i was taught about the transatlantic slave trade. slaves were brought to south america and other Caribbean (hot weather countries) to produce sugar, while others were brought to other countries, such as the united states, and they would work on cotton, tobacco,..plantations. My boyfriend is a black with african textured hair, and i can assume he could be mixed since he is light-skinned, and he denies he has african roots but he's from down south (the same place africans were brought to work on plantations) i know he has irish in his family and native american (because he says so) but the last time i remembered, irish and native american don't have rough kinky african hair (which so many blacks would have if it weren't for perms, etc.) He just looks like every other light skinned black brother to me..why do blacks deny they have african roots?
How did the African slave trade effect European settlements in America on the native people?0ygmomma2012-07-16 00:02:03
"The Atlantic world brought few benefits to West Africa and Native Americans." Illustrate this statement by discussing the African slave trade and its impact and the effects of European settlements in America on the indigenous people. I have to write an essay outline using that prompt, and the book I have to use isn't helping me much. Anything will help :)

Will Islam and Christianity always be adversaries?1santos2012-11-06 03:56:02
Islam and Christianity have been at odds with each other for centuries. Both sides have traded blows with invasions, crusades, forced conversions, and bloodshed since the first millenium A.D. Today, their differences and conflict is even more intense, with religious fanaticism battling against the modern world. This is not about who's right and who's wrong, this is about the past, present, and future of the world's two strongest faiths. Will these two great religions ever be able to co-exist or will there always be animosity.
