As it stands:

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
MacArthur - Grabovski - Kulemin
Frattin - Connolly - Armstrong
Crabb - Steckel - Brown

Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Gardiner - Schenn
Liles - Komisarek

Now, First things first, Buy-out Connolly's contract with one year remaining short of finding a suitor. Nobody will take that salary. Send Lombardi down to the Marlies or find a suitor for a late draft pick, this freeing up cap space. Schenn, Kadri, & the rights to (RFA) Kulemin in exchange for Bobby Ryan (Back on the trade Market as of today) Franson, MacArthur, Frattin & the 2012 first round draft pick in exchange for Jordan Staal. Sign (UFA) Penner to a 3.25/2 year deal. Sign university and best friend of Jake Gardiner, Justin Shultz. Sign Crabb/750,000K. Sign Holzer/750,000K. Sign (UFA) Travis Moen to a 1,750,000/1. Trade Colborne, Komisarek a 2012 2nd round pick and 2013 2nd round pick for Roberto Luongo. This leaves roughly 7-8 Mil in cap before the new CBA.
2012-2013 ROSTER

Lupul - Staal - Kessel
Penner - Grabovski - Ryan
Moen - Bozak - Armstrong
Crabb - Steckel - Brown

Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Shultz - Gardiner
Liles - Holzer

Luongo
Reimer

This solving, grit, size, scoring, lack of 1st line centre. Lack of top 6 forward, and goaltending while remaining under the salary cap signifigantly.

Buy out Connolly means two years of a bad cap hit in the books ... it was not so bad if you look at their advanced statistics .

Jordan Staal is a UFA after 2012-13 so he could walk after giving four assets to him. It's going to ride shotgun on a PIT loaded from a # 1C in Toronto.

I DO NOT WANT Travis Moen. Overpaid. The leaves have an excess of base and six forwards . Moen is Mike Brown, no facial hair and costs twice .

Dustin Penner NOT WANT . Overpaid. Regular season stats were horrible.

No. These reconstructions are not working fast to the leaves . That's why we have not made the playoffs in seven years . Not to mention those offers are silly .
